The EC Rulebooks exist to uphold the standards of safety, horse welfare, ethics, conduct, and fair play in equestrian Sport in Canada. They are a fundamental part of creating safe and positive environments within EC sanctioned competitions and activities for all participants.
If you wish to convert to an e-book format please use the digital versions of the posted EC Rulebooks.
The most common e-book formats are .epub for Google and Android e-readers and .mobi for Amazon and Kindle e-readers.
A number of free conversion programs are available, including CALIBRE. If using CALIBRE, simply save the Digital Version of the EC Rulebook to your computer, then open in CALIBRE. The file can then be saved in the format of your choice and uploaded to your preferred e-reader.
It is the right of every EC Sport Licence Holder to suggest amendments to the rules, subject to the current policies, procedures and schedules.
EC rule change suggestions are accepted from January 1 through to May 31 of each year. To submit rule change suggestions:

*Updates/revisions are represented by underlined text.
*Changes are represented by red text.
Earlier this year EC Sport Licence Holders were invited to submit suggestions for rule changes. These were reviewed by discipline experts and the EC National Rules Committee. The proposed 2026 rule changes are now posted for comment.
Due to significant updates, Section E: Dressage and Para Dressage will be posted separately with a corresponding comment period.
EC will consider pertinent comments and modify/correct/withdraw any proposed rule changes requiring attention prior to publication of the 2026 rules. A notice to EC Sport Licence Holders will advise when the finalized 2026 rules are posted to the EC website.
To send comments regarding the proposed EC Rule Changes, please visit the Proposed Rules Online Comment Form.
The National Rules Committee is responsible for leading the strategy of the annual review, community suggestion process, editing, and implementation of the EC Rules on an annual basis.
