General performance competitions showcase participants’ skills and versatility across a diverse array of classes. The various events offered must respect the following criteria:

At least 40% of the classes are dedicated to Western performance, namely the following :
- Conformation/Halter (All Sexes)
- Western Pleasure
Western Horsemanship - Showmanship at Halter
- Western Riding
- Trail Horse
- Reining
- Snaffle Bit Classes
- Speed Events
Other events may be held but must not exceed 60% of the total classes of the event, namely the following:
- Western Pleasure
- Trail Horse
- Command Class
- General Performance Reining
- Western Speed Events
- General Performance Hunter
- General Performance Hunter Hack
- General Performance Jumper
- General Performance Hunter Under Saddle
- General Performance Hack Classes
