The Morgan horse is a versatile American horse breed known to excel in a wide range of disciplines, including driving and English and Western riding. These sturdy and powerful horses are commonly seen in harness competitions and are being increasingly used in other disciplines such as dressage, show jumping, Western pleasure, and endurance. Morgan horses are typically 14 to 15 hands tall, with a strong, compact body and refined features. They carry their heads and tails high and exhibit animated, collected, and balanced gaits.
The prime function of the association is to administer the registration of the purebred Canadian Morgan and oversee the registration of the Part Morgan horse. Canadian Livestock Records Corp., Ottawa, Ontario, maintains the records for the association, while a board of directors, which includes an elected director from each zone, manages the association.
