Hackney

Modern Hackney horses stand over 14.2 hands tall, while the ponies range from 12.2 to 14.2 hands in height. They exhibit upright, arched necks, broad chests, and long, sloping shoulders. Their increased joint flexion produces the striking high-stepping gait that characterizes the breed. They are highly esteemed for carriage and combined driving, and they excel in the show ring, both in harness and under saddle.
