Renowned for their hardiness, Welsh ponies and cobs are classified into four size groups (A, B, C, and D) based on their height, typically ranging from 12 to 15 hands. Originally bred to be versatile all-purpose horses, they exhibit surprising strength and are known to excel in several disciplines. Their small size and their even temperament make them popular for children to ride and they have become a breed of choice for pony classes in multiple disciplines, including hunter/jumper, driving, and dressage.
The Welsh Pony & Cob Society is devoted to the preservation and advancement of the beautiful Welsh Pony and Cob.
