Jill Irving of Moncton, NB, was spotted grinning from ear to ear at AGDF 5 – and with good reason! She and Windhaven Farm’s 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Arthur (Jazz x Contango), scored 68.891% in the CDI 3* Grand Prix for second place on Feb. 7, and then an impressive 70.064% on Feb. 9 in the CDI 3* Grand Prix Special for third.
Allison Youngdale of Aurora, ON, and her coach, Canadian Olympian Jacqueline Brooks of Cedar Valley, ON, took a break from strategizing to strike a pose.
Lily-Rose Lemaire of Drummondville, QC, was thrilled with her score of 65.345% in the CDI-J Team Test on Feb. 8 because it earned her second place, and the red ribbon perfectly matched the maple leafs sported by Lynda Tétreault’s 19-year-old Hanoverian mare, World Lady (sired by World Cup I).
After earning two top-three finishes at AGDF 2 with her 13-year-old Westphalian mare, Rockylane (Rock Forever x Rombach), Christilot Boylen, a Canadian Olympian who currently resides in Wellington, FL, took it easy at AGDF 5, watching the competition ringside and coaching several students.
One of Boylen’s students and a fellow Olympian, Belinda Trussell of Stouffville, ON, waved to the camera from the back of Carlucci (Contendro I x Compliment), Barbara Holden Sinclair’s 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding.
Jennifer Kellock of Cedar Valley, ON, was on the ground to provide both emotional and physical support to her daughter and current Wellington, FL, resident, Lindsay Kellock, during competition.
Lindsay Kellock (left) also found time to chat with Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu (right) of Saint-Bruno, QC, who is a fellow student of four-time Canadian Olympian, Ashley Holzer. Holzer is also Kellock’s godmother!
The dynamic mother-daughter dressage duo and Canadian Olympians, Eva Maria (right) and Martina Pracht (left) of Stouffville, ON, also traveled south to soak up some sunny competition.

Canada had a strong presence at the Florida International Youth Dressage Championships (FIYDC) – with 10 of the 28 athletes representing the maple leaf in AGDF’s showcase of up-and-coming talent from around the world.
Vanessa Creech-Terauds of Caistor Centre, ON, and Fleur de Lis L (First Dance x De Niro), the 10-year-old Hanoverian mare owned by Diane Creech and Louise Leatherdale, are masters of FIYDC competition, having won the Young Rider championship in 2017 and runner-up title in 2018. They returned to the ring in 2019 to once again place second in the Young Rider division.
In the Under 25 (U25) division, Camille Carier Bergeron of Mascouche, QC captured second place with Acoeur (Acordelli x Ricardo), a 12-year-old Dutch Sport Horse gelding owned by M. Wieczorek – a result made even more impressive considering the partnership had only made their FEI debut the previous week.
Utah (Jazz x Landwind II B), an 18-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Mathilde Blais Tètreault, is a veteran of the FIYDC. He previously competed in the U25 division with Mathilde, and competed in 2018 and 2019 with Mathilde’s sister, Laurence Blais Tètreault of Montreal, QC (pictured).
