The senior team competing for Canada in the $400,000 CSIO 5* Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Canada on June 2 will be chosen from the following horse-and-rider combinations:
The senior Canadian Show Jumping Team will be led on the ground by Equestrian Canada (EC) Manager of Jumping, Karen Hendry-Ouellette and Chef d’Équipe, Mark Laskin.
The $400,000 CSIO 5* Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Canada will act as the third and final qualifier in the North America, Central America and Caribbean League of the 2019 FEI Nations Cup Jumping Series. Mexico currently leads the league with 200 points, followed by the United States with 170 points. Canada is sitting in third place with 140 points. Following the CSIO 5* Odlum Brown BC Open, the top two teams in the league will be invited to contest the Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping Final in Barcelona, ESP, set for Oct. 3-6, 2019.
“We are very much looking forward to coming home to compete on our own turf at the CSIO 5* Langley at Thunderbird Show Park this week,” said Laskin. “We have a very strong team, with all of our riders being on good form recently, and our goal is to ride that momentum to a top finish in the Nations Cup on the final day of the tournament.”
The $400,000 CSIO 5* Longines FEI Nations Cup™ of Canada will be available on livestream through FEI TV on June 2 at 5:00 p.m. EDT at https://tv.fei.org.
The CSIO 5* Odlum Brown BC Open will also play host to a youth-centred Nations Cup on June 1 that will provide athletes with the opportunity to gain valuable experience working together as a team to represent their country.

In addition to the Nations Cup competition, the CSIO 5* Odlum Brown BC Open will host CSIO-Ch and CSIO-J classes throughout the week for Children’s and Junior-level jumping athletes. The CSIO-J Junior classes are open to athletes between the ages of 14-18, with courses set to a maximum of 1.40m. Athletes aged 12 to 14 can compete in the CSIO-Ch classes, with fence heights up to 1.20m.
