Galt has been a driving force in developing and supporting dressage in the Ottawa area for many years. As a long-time Board member of the Ottawa Area Dressage Group (OADG), she contributes to discussions with positive, clear, and fair input, and tactfully takes all perspectives into account: competitors, show organizers, officials, support crews, cheering sections, and the general public.
Galt has also managed the portfolios of Membership and Awards with the OADG, and currently acts as Show Director. In this role, she has done an exemplary job coordinating show dates and providing assistance to show organizers.
Galt is a well-known and respected EC certified Dressage Judge, and can be counted on to provide competitors with thorough, constructive feedback. She can also be found in the ring herself, competing at national level shows.
EC commends Galt, who was described by nominators as a most deserving recipient of the Volunteer of the Month recognition, for her selfless dedication to the OADG and her local dressage community.
If you know of a volunteer who deserves recognition, nominations are quick and easy through the EC website. Nominations for the award are accepted until the 20th day of each month, making March 20th the next deadline to submit the name of a volunteer who has made a difference to the sport of dressage. Questions and comments on the Dressage Volunteer of the Month Award can be directed to Christine Peters at cpeters@equestrian.ca.
