In challenging economic times, we know every dollar counts. We’re offering the opportunity to lock in your Sport Licence for 2024 – at this years’ pricing! These discounted rates are offered to our valued community and are available until Dec. 31, 2023.
As you prepare to reach new heights for the 2024 competitive season, EC is working hard to have the programs and infrastructure needed to maintain a competitive playing field where everyone can achieve their best. Here below are some important updates to consider.
2024 Important Highlights:
✨ Benefits / Discounts
We are working hard to bring new partners on board to offer benefits and discounts that matter to you. As our preferred insurance partner, Henry Equestrian now offers discounted insurance rates for EC Sport Licence holders in the areas of pets, coaches, horses, and travel! Sport licence holders enjoy 10% off Hestaband Equine Kineseology Tape. Through the Equine Discounts program you can get up to 40% off Sherwin Williams paint.
Look for the launch of new partnerships for the 2024 season for products and services we know you will love!
⛑️ Prerequisite: Safe Sport Training
Safe sport training is required PRIOR TO purchasing a sport licence for anyone 18 and older. The training courses are provided FREE of charge and valid for three years. If you are unsure if your training is current, expiry dates can be verified in your ECampus within your MyEC account.
All competitive athletes, owners, and officials must complete the two EC Safe Sport training sessions: EC Concussion Awareness and Fostering Healthy Equestrian Environments found in ECampus. Coaches have safe sport training as part of their status program certification. We thank everyone for their support in creating safe sport environments for all equestrian participants in Canada.
✅ Prerequisite: PTSO Renewal Reminder
Don’t forget to renew with your home province/territory first. You must have a valid 2024 Provincial/Territorial Sport Organization (PTSO) membership to complete your EC renewal. In some cases, it may take a few business days for your PTSO to process the renewal before your EC renewal can be completed.
Contest Alert
As part of the 2024 Renewals Program, you can double your chances to win a John Deere Ride-on lawn tractor valued at $10,000!
Enter to Win: Sport Licence Holders may make their own submission or nominate others to win a John Deere Z530R™ courtesy of the NTRA Advantage Equine Discounts Program by sharing with us a brief story about how you, your business, or the person you are nominating is working to make the future of equestrian sport better.
FEI Document Services
New for 2024 – we’ve gone digital! Owners can now apply for an EC National Passport, FEI Recognition Card or the Combined EC National Passport and FEI Recognition Card document all ONLINE through MyEC.
Improved Web Services
We’re launching a new and improved online user experience in 2024. Thanks to a grant from Sport Canada, we were able to make updates to our website to make it easier to navigate and find information you need. Look for the refresh in the new year!

Schedules of Fees/Fines
Fees and fines remain unchanged for the remainder of the calendar year with new fees coming into effect on January 1, 2024. Click here to review the 2024 Scedule of Fees.
➡️ Temporary Sport Licenses
Effective 2024, all riders, owners, and coaches must hold an EC Sport Licence to participate at an EC-sanctioned event. Temporary Sport Licenses will no longer be available, ensuring all participants will be properly registered and within EC’s jurisdiction. Single event upgrades will still be available at one standard fee.
➡️ Temporary Coach Status
Temporary Coach Status will be in effect again in 2024 but will be purchased directly through MyEC and not via the competition. Temporary Coach Status is valid for one (1) EC-sanctioned event only at a fee of $175. EC is reaching out to coaches who had Temporary status in 2023 to support them to obtain licensed coach status.
Gold and Platinum Sport License Holders Reminder

EC would like to ensure we remove any barriers to renew. If you require any accommodations to engage in the process, please let us know at sportlicences@equestrian.ca.
