Alex Hubley, Coordinator, FEI Athlete Services
What is your part in the sport license renewal process?
My role as FEI Athlete Services Coordinator is to support Canadian equestrian athletes competing in FEI events in all disciplines around the world. I help ensure their sport licences, FEI registrations and horse’s documents are valid and up-to-date so entries can be submitted to competitions on time. I work closely with Christine Primeau in Sport Operations as well as all the members of the High-Performance team.
What is your experience behind the process?
I have worked as an FEI groom, and as an equestrian athlete myself, I know how busy life gets with horses! In addition to working with athletes I also liaise with the FEI, horse show organizers, and other National Federations to support our athletes in all disciplines across the globe.
What’s a key message you can share with our community?
Help us help you! Making sure your sport license and all FEI Registrations (for each horse and rider) are up to date, and entries are submitted well in advance of entry deadlines are small steps you can take to help reduce any pre-competition season stress!
Christine Primeau, Coordinator, Sport Licences and Registration Services
What is your part in the sport license renewal process?
I provide a variety of customer services that help guide our community members through the sport licence, horse recording, and FEI equine document processes from start to finish. These include front-line phone and email service inquiries, processing of services and documents. The renewal process can be overwhelming – I want to reassure everyone that the team and I are here to assist with any and all requests. With the ease of use of the MY-EC account, most services can be processed directly there. If there are any issues, we are always here to help!
What is your experience behind the process?
I bring over 35+ years in the horse industry as a national level competitor, owner, provincial board member and competition organizer. I also have 25+ years of customer service experience.
What’s a key message you can share with our community?
PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! Ensure you renew prior to competition and confirm everything is in order prior to departure for the show grounds. This reduces stress for everyone, ensures easy entry for the competitions, and that there is no scramble or confusion once you arrive. Please also ensure you verify your FEI documents in advance, confirm the horse ownership is up to date and not about to expire.
