The four young athletes from Canada – Eric Krawitt (Okotoks, AB), Sara Tindale (Campbellville, ON), Lauren Esdale (Seagrave, ON) and Sam Walker (Nobleton, ON), with their partners, came out of the Young Riders First competition in ninth place in Peelbergen, NED from Sept. 20-25. A day later, they secured a big win for Canada by taking the Challenge Cup and finished the event in seventh overall.

Katherine van den Bosch

Canadian vaulter Katherine van den Bosch of Olds, AB, earned a victory on Sept. 23, in the ICH2F Individual Children 2* Female event in Chilliwack, BC. Alongside lunger Angelique Vick and Astraea, a 17-year-old Canadian Sport Horse owned by Megan Leeper, the pair finished with a score of 6.179 over fellow Canadian Ava Burgener and Ryder (5.224).

Camille Carier Bergeron

Dressage athlete Camille Carier Bergeron of Laval, QC, earned two victories from Sept. 27 – Oct. 2 in Devon, PA. While in the saddle of Sound of Silence 4 (San Amour I x Limes), a 14-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Gilles Bergeron, the pair finished with a score of 69.323% in the CDIU25 Intermediate II. A day later in the CDIU25 Grand Prix 16-25, the Canadian duo won again finishing with a score of 68.000%.

Shannon Dueck

On Sept. 30, Shannon Dueck of Vancouver, BC, who now resides in Loxahatchee, FL, earned a win in the CDI 1* Prix St-Georges in Devon, PA. In the saddle of Angelika MW, a seven-year-old Oldenburg mare she co-owns with Elizabeth Ferber, Kathy Putnam and Julie Skinner, finished with a score of 71.471% over USA’s Mary Lauritsen and Jaccardo (69.510%).

A day later in Devon, PA, the Canadian pair topped the standings again with a win in the CDI 1* Intermediate I, clocking a score of 69.902% over fellow Canadian Abbey Simbrow and Estor (68.921%).

Jaydee Fluet, Emily Consaul, Daniel Klotz-Dedora, Lynda van Noordenburg, Katherine van den Bosch, Emma Sparrow and Angelique Vick (lunger)

The vaulting squad of Daniel Klotz-Dedora, Emily Consaul, Emma Sparrow, Jaydee Fluet, Katherine van den Bosch and Lynda van Noordenburg earned a win in the CVIJ2* Squad Junior in Chilliwack, BC, on Sept. 23. Along with lunger Angelique Vick and Zorro, a nine-year-old Canadian Sport Horse gelding owned by Jeanine van der Sluijs and Vick, the squad finished with a score of 7.113.

Kassidy Keith

Kassidy Keith of Aldergrove, BC, earned wins on Sept. 22 and Sept. 25, while riding Fenelon WF (Flex A Bill x Capone OT), a nine-year-old Irish Sport Horse she co-owns with Cheryl Keith. The Canadian pair jumped clear in both wins in Vancouver, BC, stopping the clock in the CSI U25 – Table A with a time of 63.15, and in the latter 76.39.

Daniel Klotz-Dedora

On Sept. 29, Daniel Klotz-Dedora of Cochrane, AB, earned a win in the CVIJ2* Individual Junior Male event in Chilliwack, BC. With KCR Tomcat, a 10-year-old Cleveland Bay breed gelding owned by Jeanine van der Sluijs and Angelique Vick, Klotz-Dedora and lunger Vick finished with a score of 6.974.

Roberta Sheffield

From Oct. 4-6, Roberta Sheffield, who resides in Lincolnshire, ENG, finished first overall in the CPEDI3* (Grade III) at Keysoe British Dressage Para International Show in Keysoe, UK. Riding her own Fairuza, a 13-year-old mare whose breeding derives from the Dutch-bred Gelderlander carriage horse, matched a personal best score of 72.000% in the Team test.

A day later, the pair earned a personal best in the Individual test of 71.853% and on the final day, the two-time Paralympian and her mare danced their way to a score of 73.714% in the Freestyle test. The Winner’s Circle – October 2022

Jay Hayes

On Sept. 24, Jay Hayes of Mono, ON, earned the victory in the CSI 2* in Caledon, ON. While riding Elton John (Clearway x Kannan), a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Fenn Randazzo, the pair jumped double clear and finished the clock with a time of 42.16.

Danielle Lambert

On Sept. 23, Danielle Lambert, who was born in Vancouver, BC, and now resides in Europe, won the CSIYH 1* in Canteleu, FRA. Riding Loraine S Z (Le Diamant Horta x Zapatero), a Belgian Warmblood mare owned by S.a.s. Criss Cross, Lambert guided the way to jump clear and finish with a time of 64.92 over Netherlands’ Jack Ansems and Kaboom (66.43).

Amy Millar

Amy Millar of Perth, ON, earned the victory in the CSI 5* MLSJ on Sept. 15 in Traverse City, Mich. The pair of Millar and Christiano (Canoso x Compliment), a 12-year-old German Warmblood gelding owned by Future Adventures, jumped double clear and times of 31.87 and 24.13 to victory.

Kelley Robinson

Kelley Robinson of Russell, ON, and Blue’s Yer Daddy (Mr Blue x Lys De Darmen) won the CSI 2* on Sept. 23 in Caledon, ON. Riding her own 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, the duo jumped double clear of six other athlete and horse combinations and finished with a time of 45.14.

Jim Ifko

Jim Ifko of Calgary, AB, earned the win in the CSI 3* 37,200 prize in Vancouver, BC on Sept. 22. Riding Un Diamant des Forets (Diamant de Semilly x Papillon Rouge), a 14-year-old Selle Français stallion owned by Eventyre Farms Ltd, the pair jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 37.37 ahead of Uma O’Neill and Clockwise of Greenhill Z of New Zealand, who finished with a time of 39.13.

Jacqueline Steffens Daly & Amy Millar

On Sept. 17, the trio of Jacqueline Steffens (Harriston, ON), Amy Millar (Perth, ON) and Ireland’s Conor Swail, finished atop of the CSI 5* MLSJ OTH Team 4 in Traverse City, Mich. Riding Cat Ninja (VDL Zircco Blue x Corland), a 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned by Eye Candy Jumpers, Steffens jumped double clear and stopped the clock with a time of 69.86 and 43.37. Millar guided Christiano (Canoso x Compliment), a 12-year-old German Warmblood gelding owned by Future Adventures to a time of 67.47 and 43.06 and incurred a penalty score of four.

Brian Morton

In front of a home crowd, Brian Morton of Calgary, AB, earned wins on multiple horses on Sept. 9. In the CSIO5* Six Bar – Progressive Heights, Morton and Crusador Z (Chacco-Blue x Labor’s VDL Indorado), a 13-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare owned by Spruce Meadows LTD, finished in a three-way tie with Sweden’s Jens Fredricson, Diarado’s Rose Elith and USA’s Kyle King and Coffee To Go, all with a clear score.

The same day, Morton and Firefly W (Nabab de Reve x Voltaire), a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Spruce Meadows LTD, jumped double clear to a score of 46.33.

Shauna Cook

In front of a home crowd, Shauna Cook of Sherwood Park, AB, picked up wins in the CSI 3* on Sept. 8 and 9 in Calgary, AB. Cook and Caya (Christian x Quintender 2), a nine-year-old Hanoverian mare owned by Sheilagh Kelly, jumped double clear and a time of 39.43. On the second day, the pair jumped double clear again and a time of 43.02 to claim the win.

Madelaine Riddle

On Sept. 8, Madelaine Riddle of Sherwood Park, AB, and Fair Katie VDH (VDL Zircco Blue x Indoctro), a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned by Brian Vander Helm, captured a win at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. The pair jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 45.16.

Elizabeth Gregory

Elizabeth Gregory of Langley, BC, earned the win in the CVI 2* Individual Senior Female on Sept. 23 in Chilliwack, BC. In front of a home crowd, along with lunger Jessica Bentzen and Inspector Gadget JPS (Cicero Z x Davignon I), a 14-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding owned by Bradon Equestrian LTD, the pair finished with a score of 6.388.

Michelle Courtemanche

Michelle Courtemanche of Guelph, ON, captured a victory in the CAI 2* Format 1 on Sept. 21-23 in Tryon, NC. With her own Fashionista, sired by Windfall, a 10-year-old Dutch Harness Horse, finished in the dressage (55.25), marathon (195.68) and cones (29.03), completing with a score of 279.96.
