NEW BRUNSWICK EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION
Youth Bursary 2019
Again this year, the NBEA is supporting the equestrian education of young western, general performance, and breed sport riders by offering six $500 youth bursaries. In order to be eligible, the rider must be between the ages of 14 and 18, an NBEA member, attending school in New Brunswick, and be working with a current NCCP Instructor or Coach. All riders who meet these criteria are encouraged to visit the NBEA Youth Bursary webpage and take a look at the application information.
Applications for last year’s bursaries were received in record numbers, and we’re hoping for even more this year. Please note that riders participating in the 2019 LTED program are not eligible.
Deadline: April 5, 2019
Joslin Scholarship
The Joslin Scholarship provides a scholarship to a York County student who has graduated from a York County high school and is entering agricultural or veterinarian college/university. Please click here for more details and an application form.
NBEA Long-Term Equestrian Development 2019 Program
Excitement is mounting for this year’s Long-Term Equestrian Development (LTED) programs. Offered for the eventing, hunter/jumper, and dressage disciplines, riders of all ages are invited to apply for this comprehensive and financially subsidised program.
For the past two years, the end goal of each LTED program was the selection of a team to represent New Brunswick at the Atlantic Canadian Equestrian (ACE) Championships, and last year’s results were stellar. Sadly, this tier of competition will not be on offer for 2019. However, the LTED riders will still be shooting for a laudable goal. Toward the end of the summer, groups will be selected from within the LTED programs to travel together and attend a competition in Quebec or Ontario. For many of our riders, this will be their first swim in a bigger pond and going as a group with the support of the LTED team coaches will be an exciting target for the summer’s work.
Please visit the NBEA LTED webpage for more details, program descriptions, and application forms. We’ll be following the adventures of the LTED riders all summer, so stay tuned.
