April 1, 2026 – Ottawa, ON — The 2025 Young Horse Development Program Dressage Rankings have been finalized, recognizing the top-performing young dressage horses across Canada in the four-, five-, six-, and seven-year-old divisions.
The rankings reflect results achieved at EC Gold, Foreign National, and CDI competitions, with a minimum requirement of two scores of 68% or higher to be eligible for final ranking.
A standout achievement in the 2025 season is the exceptional success of Gilles Bergeron, who is the owner or co-owner of the top-ranked horse in every age division. This is a rare and noteworthy accomplishment that underscores a consistent commitment to excellence in young horse development.
“The continued success of the Young Horse Development Program reflects the exceptional commitment of owners, riders, and breeders who are investing in the long-term future of our sport,” remarked Christine Peters, Senior Manager of Dressage at Equestrian Canada. “We are especially encouraged to see owners choosing to keep their horses with Canadian riders and developing them within Canada’s high-performance pathway. This commitment is essential to building depth, experience, and continuity as these horses progress toward international competition. The quality demonstrated in the 2025 rankings confirms that our program is producing horses capable of contributing to future Canadian team success on the world stage.”
