Evi Strasser of Sainte-Adèle, QC, and her own Déjà vu Tyme(Dauphin x Werbellin), a 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding earned a win in the CDI3* Grand Prix on June 16 in Caledon, ON. The pair danced their way to a score of 67.891% over Tanya Strasser-Shostak and Fidelis Tyme (66.587%).

Kara Chad

Kara Chad of Millarville, AB, won the CSI2* Winning Round at Spruce Meadows in Calgary AB on July 8. Aboard Curraghgraigue Obos Flight (Obos Quality 004 x Errigal Flight), an 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding owned by Rachael Evison and Matthew Sampson, the pair jumped double clear and finished with times of 79.31 and 47.56 to take home the winning ribbon.

Alison Campbell-WrightThe Winner’s Circle – July 2023

Alison Campbell-Wright collected three wins in the CDIJ classes from June 16 – 18 in Langley, BC. The Victoria, BC, native and Slapstick (Savoy x Reccio L), a 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding owned by Bonnie Campbell, started off in the Junior Team Competition with a score of 63.212%. The next day, they scored 62.470% in the Junior Individual Competition and concluded the weekend with a score of 69.265% in the Junior Freestyle to Music.

Emma WooThe Winner’s Circle – July 2023

Emma Woo of Surrey, BC, and Dirty Harry Z (Der Senaat 111 x Lord Z) earned a victory in the CSI2* One Jump Off on June 15 in Calgary, AB, at Spruce Meadows. Aboard her own 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding, Woo jumped double clear and finished with a time of 38.75 over USA’s Anderson Jones and Origigi STB, who would also jump double clear and a time of 39.35.

Jacqueline Brooks of Cedar Valley, ON, was victorious in the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle to Music on June 17 at Caledon, ON. The two-time Olympian was riding Te Amo Q O S (Totilas x Rubinstein 46), a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Mary Brooks, finished with a score of 70.495%.

Erin Silo

Erin Silo of Langley Township, BC, won the CDI1* Prix St-Georges on June 16 in front of a hometown crowd. Aboard her own Jett, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Silo finished with a score of 69.461%. Two days later, the pair earned a score of 69.951% in the Intermediate I.

Allison ReidThe Winner’s Circle – July 2023

Allison Reid of Calgary, AB, won the CSI2* One Round in front of a hometown crowd at Spruce Meadows on June 30. Aboard her own Ridgetop Contierra (Contendro 1 x Landslide), an 18-year-old Oldenburg mare, the pair jumped clear and completed the round in a time of 61.89.

Belinda Trussell

Belinda Trussell of Stouffville, ON, won the CDI YH Preliminary Test for six-year-old horses on June 17 at Caledon, ON. The two-time Olympian was aboard Quincy, a six-year-old Hanoverian mare owned by Susan Zucker and finished with a score of 85.000%.

Kelly Houtappels-BruderThe Winner’s Circle – July 2023

The Canadian driver Kelly Houtappels-Bruder, originally from Ariss, ON, earned the victory in the three-day event Le Pin-au-Haras in Normandy, FRA from July 6 – 9. With her trusted partner Flip (Fidertanz x Carprilli), a 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding she co-owns with Frank Houtappels, the pair started strong with a score of 39.99 in the dressage phase. A day later, they added 87.57 to their total in the marathon. The Canadian pair would hold onto first place through the cones phase, finishing with a total score of 127.57.

Angela Covert of Coldstream, BC, and Hollywood de Rase Z (Hoegie van’t Bergske x Triomphe de Muze) earned the victory in the CSI3* 1.50m Jump Off – Grand Prix Qualifier in Ocala, FL on July 6. Aboard her own 11-year-old Belgian Zangersheide, Covert was one of eight pairs to jump double clear but finished with the fastest time of 43.54 over USA’s Will Simpson and Chacco P, who stopped the clock at 44.94.

Katherine Kana

Katherine Kana and Caviar of Picobello Z (Contendro 1 x Zandor Z) earned the win in the CSI2* one round in front of a hometown crowd at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB, on June 14. Riding her own seven-year-old Belgian Zangersheide mare, was the only pair to jump clear and stopped the clock at 70.50.

A few weeks later on July 9, the pair would finish atop of the leaderboard in the CSI2* one jump off at Spruce Meadows. They would jump double clear and earn a time of 39.45. 

Jeremy Ockey

Jeremy Ockey of Calgary, AB, won the CSI2* one round on June 28 in front of a Spruce Meadows crowd. Aboard his own Castlefield Confellow (Cornet Obolensky x Laughton’s Flight), an eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding, the pair would jump clear and stop the clock at 59.73.

Kathryn Robinson

Kathryn Robinson of Edmonton, AB, earned victories in the CDI Y classes from June 16 – 18 in Langley, BC. Riding Forget-Me-Not (Valdez x Robijn), a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned by Carol Robinson, the pair would record a score of 67.383% in the Young Riders Team Competition. The following day, they would post 65.794% in the Young Riders Individual Competition and conclude dancing their way to a score of 71.340% in the Young Riders Freestyle to Music.

Rakeya Moussa

Rakeya Moussa of Edmonton, ON, earned the win in the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on June 18 in Caledon, ON. Riding Davidoff V.H. Trichelhof (Lord Leatherdale x Wall Street), a 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Susan & Mohammed Moussa, the duo finished with a score of 68.149%.

Corina Hug

Corina Hug of Roxton Pond, QC, contested and won the CAI1* H4 (Dressage + Cones) on June 21 in Bromont, QC. Guiding four horses Chiraz (nine-year-old Oldenburg mare), Louna (13-year-old Oldenburg mare), Nico (14-year-old Oldenburg gelding) and Rhinna (10-year-old Oldenburg mare), she co-owns with Eugen Hug, she would finish with scores of 71.47 in the dressage phase and 15.88 in cones and a final score of 87.35.

Sutton Friesen

Sutton Friesen of Kelowna, BC, and Adare Ya To (Chacoa x Coolcaum Hill), won the CSI2* One Jump Off on June 16 at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. Riding the 13-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding owned by Baystreet Equestrian, Friesen was one of nine pairs to jump double clear but would finish with the fastest time of 43.69.

William Martin of Grimsby, ON, captured the victory in the CSI2* winning round on June 17 at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. Riding S.I.E.C Larissa (Livello x Contendro I), a 12-year-old Oldenburg mare owned by Lesley Martin, the pair was one of five pairs to jump double clear but finished with the fastest time of 38.50 over second place Piet van Genugten and Kannamara Equites of Netherlands, who finished with a time of 40.27.

Beatrice Boucher

Beatrice Boucher of Saint-Dominique, QC, won the CDI1* Intermediate I Freestyle to Music on June 18 at the Caledon Equestrian Park. Aboard Summerwood’s Limei (Londonderry x Weltmeyer), a 10-year-old Hanoverian mare owned by Monica von Glahn, Boucher finished on a score of 75.992%.

Dylan Munro

Dylan Munro of Okotoks, AB, earned the victory in the CSI2* One Jump Off in Calgary, AB, at Spruce Meadows. Riding seven-year-old Calippo 57, sired by Casallco and owned by Attache Stables Ltd., Munro jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 43.21.

Lori Bell of Beaverton, ON, earned multiple wins in the CDI1* at Caledon Equestrian Park on June 16 and 17. In the Prix St-Georges, Bell guided Flirt (Florencio x Donnerhall), a 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding she co-owns with Denis Rodet, to a score of 72.451%. A day later in the Intermediate I class, the duo scored 71.814% in a field of 19 athlete and horse combinations.

Beda Wachter

On July 2 in her home province of Alberta, Beda Wachter of Red Deer County earned a win in the CSI2* One Round at Spruce Meadows. Aboard Golden Cassini (Cassini Gold x Casco), a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Sundance Stables, Wachter was one of five pairs to jump clear but had the fastest time of 72.51.

Lucy Phares

On June 16, Lucy Phares of Calgary, AB, was victorious in the CSI2* One Jump Off at Spruce Meadows, while riding Juliana (Air Borne Montecillo x Galubet A), a 15-year-old Mexican Sport Horse mare owned by Stump Lake Ranch & Cattle Co. Phares was the only pair to jump double clear and finished with a time of 40.47.

Sarah Corbett

Sarah Corbett of Oil Springs, ON, earned multiple wins in the CDIY on June 17 and 18 at Caledon Equestrian Park. In the Young Riders Individual Competition, Corbett and her own Summersby, sired by Stedinger, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, finished with a score of 65.245%. A day later in the Young Riders Freestyle to Music, the pair danced their way to a score of 66.083%.

Darryl Billing

Darryl Billing of Elmira, ON, earned a victory in the CAI3* H2 (D+M+C) on June 21 in Bromont, QC. Driving with his own King (Teo x Strong Status), a 17-year-old Dutch Harness horse gelding and Sonny (Winand x Janie’s Lancer), a 15-year-old Dutch Harness horse gelding, Billing earned 64.00 in the dressage phase. In the marathon, they posted 123.00 and concluded with 23.73 in the cones for a final score of 210.73.

Sean JobinThe Winner’s Circle – July 2023

The Toronto native, Sean Jobin, who resides in Florida, won the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix in Ocala, FL on June 17. Aboard Coquelicot VH Heuvelland Z (Catoki x Cassini II), an 11-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Foxridge Farms Stables, Jobin jumped double clear and stopped the clock in a time of 38.56.

Lynne Stephenson

Lynne Stephenson of Red Deer County, AB, earned multiple wins in CSI2* competition while competing at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. On June 28 in the One Round, riding WH Coconut (Carthago Sun II x Chameur) the pair jumped clear and finished with a time of 58.88. On July 2, the duo again jumped clear and lead with a time of 70.90.

Four days later on July 6, Stephenson jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 46.74 and a day later, jumped clear and clocked a time of 83.26. 

Emily Boyce

Emily Boyce of King, ON, and Hickory Bay (Bold Executive x Lord at War) earned a victory in the CCI2*-S in Orangeville, ON, on July 2. Boyce started the event with 30.6 and received eight penalties in show jumping to finish on 38.6.

Rebecca Cowden

Rebecca Cowden, who resides in Califon, NJ, placed first in Allentown, NJ, on July 9 in the Intermediate I Freestyle to Music. Aboard her own Sinatra’s Rose RS (Sinatra Song x Rosenthal), a 13-year-old Oldenburg mare, the duo danced their way to a score of 68.417%.

Carole Precious

On June 21, Carole Precious of Puslinch, ON, won the CAI2*- H1 (D + M + C) class in Bromont, QC. Guiding her own Grote-Wonder, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Precious started with a score of 53.98 in the dressage phase, 77.24 in the marathon stage and concluded with 16.24 in cones to round out the event on a final score of 147.46.

Stella Chernoff

Stella Chernoff of DeWinton, AB, and Connador (Connor 48 x Quidam de Revel) earned a win in the CSI2* One Jump Off on June 17. The 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding owned by Stump Lake Ranch & Cattle Co., and Chernoff jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 35.89 in a field of 20 athlete and horse combinations.

Tiffany Foster of Langley, BC, captured three victories at the North American CSI 5* / 2* event at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB, on July 6 – 7. Riding Battlecry (Vigo d’Arsouilles STX x Latano), a nine-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding co-owned by Artisan Farms LLC and Kent Farrington, Foster jumped double clear and finished in a time of 40.67 to win the Jayman BUILT Cup (1.55m).

A day later, Foster came out on top again, winning the Scotiabank Cup (1.50m), while riding Electrique (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x Voltaire), a nine-year-old Zangersheide mare owned by 5 Roosters, the pair jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 39.15. Foster also took a third win in the CSI2* One Jump Off aboard Jetouelle-S (Chaman x Toulon), a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned by 5 Roosters. The duo jumped double clear again and stopped the clock at 34.53.   

Catherine Levasseur

Catherine Levasseur of Sainte-Sophie, QC, and her own Fizz Forever, sired by Whiskei S-1486, a 13-year-old American Dutch Harness Horse mare, won the CAI3*-H1 in Bromont, QC, on June 21. The pair scored 64.76 in dressage, 80.95 in marathon and 6.00 in cones for a final score of 151.71.

Sam Walker

Sam Walker of Nobleton, ON, earned a victory in the CSI2* one round on June 15 at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. Aboard Mara VD Bisschop (Elvis Ter Putte x For Pleasure), an 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare owned by KML Inc., Walker jumped clear and stopped the clock at 68.36.

Zachary Marshall

Zachary Marshall of Burlington, ON, was victorious in the CDIY – Young Riders Team Competition on June 16 at Caledon Equestrian Park. Riding Gatsby (Jazz x Florestan I) a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Marshall, the pair finished with a score of 67.892%.

Erynn Ballard

Erynn Ballard of Tottenham, ON, claimed a victory in the $50,000 Lugano Diamonds National Grand Prix at Ocala Summer V show in Ocala, FL. Riding Kristal Brillante (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Contendro II), an eight-year-old Dutch warmblood gelding owned by Ilan Ferder, the duo posted a double clear effort in a time of 46.14.

Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu of Saint-Bruno, QC, and Medoc, a six-year-old Dutch warmblood gelding owned by Jill Irving, captured the victory in the CDIYH Preliminary Test for six-year-old horses division on June 18 at Caledon Equestrian Park. The Olympian guided the young horse to a score of 88.200%. 

Alexander Grayton

Alexander Grayton earned the win in front of a hometown crowd in the CSI2* One Jump Off event at Spruce Meadows on June 17. Riding Ice Man du Houssoit (Hunters Scendro x Ugano Sitte), a nine-year-old Belgian Sport Horse, Grayton jumped double clear and stopped the clock with a time of 46.54.

Shelley Lawder

Shelley Lawder of Langley, BC, captured a victory in the CDI1* Intermediate I Freestyle to Music on June 18 in front of a hometown crowd. Riding Balancee, a nine-year-old Westphalian mare she co-owns with Molly Brewer, Lawder danced her way to a score of 72.875%.

Rachel Cornacchia

Rachel Cornacchia of Foothills, AB, earned the winning ribbon in the CSI2* One Jump Off on Canada Day at Spruce Meadows. Aboard Eloise, a nine-year-old Selle Français mare owned by Eventyre Farms Ltd.’s, Cornacchia would jump double clear and a time of 45.82.

Amy Millar of Perth, ON, claimed a victory in the $50,000 RBC Grand Prix on July 8 at Wesley Clover Parks in Ottawa, ON. Millar aboard GSC Athena, owned by Brookstreet Stables Corporation, jumped clear and finished with a time of 38.67. 

Sarah Croft

Sarah Croft of King City, ON, and Caddyshack B won the CCI3*-S in Orangeville, ON, from July 1 – 2. Riding the 12-year-old Canadian Sport Horse owned by Sylvia Dixon, the duo posted a 37.4 score in dressage, received zero deductions in cross-country and received a mere 0.4 time penalty in show jumping to finish on a score of 37.8.

Maya Markowski

Maya Markowski of Listowel, ON, posted multiple wins in the CDI2* classes in Caledon, ON, from June 16 – 18. Aboard Daedalus (Es de Laurentis x Es Sam Steele), an 18-year-old Hanoverian gelding owned by Gail Tittley, Markowski received a score of 65.883% in the Intermediate II. A day later, the duo danced their way to a 61.884% in the Grand Prix.

Alexia Guillemette

Alexia Guillemette of Saint Joseph Du Lac, QC, earned a victory in the CAI1* P1 event in Bromont, QC. Driving Tit Gill PG, an eight-year-old Dutch Harness mixed with Hackney mare owned by Pierre Guillemette, the pair posted a 61.07 dressage score and a 7.59 in cones for an overall score of 68.66.

On June 18, Taylor Wood of Manotick, ON, earned multiple wins in the CSI2* at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. In the One Jump Off, Wood and her own Joyride (Unaniem x Krack C), a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, jumped double clear and stopped the clock at 40.30.

Wood contested another One Jump Off, but this time with her own New York’s Joy (Quidam Junior x Cavalier Kells Lady), a 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding, knocking down one gate but finishing with the fastest time of 41.29. 

Pierre Guillemette

On June 21, Pierre Guillemette of Becancour, QC, won the CAI1*-H in Bromont, QC. Driving his own A&M’s Fire Blazer, a nine-year-old American Dutch Harness horse gelding and WA’s Pearl Breker, a five-year-old Dutch Harness gelding, Guillemette recorded scores of 78.53 in the dressage phase and 17.98 in cones for an overall total of 96.51.

Ina Kai Barila-Laliberte

Ina Kai Barilla-Laliberte of Outremont, QC, earned multiple wins in the CSI2*, while competing at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. On June 29, riding Uranie du Tillard (Baloubet du Rouet x Quidam de Revel), a 15-year-old Selle Francais mare owned by Fiducie Naga Trust, the pair jumped clear and finished with a score of 61.24

On July 5, Barila-Laliberte finished at the top of the leaderboard with Mara VD Bisschop (Elvis Ter Putte x For Pleasure), an 11-year-old Belgian warmblood mare owned by KML Inc, jumping clear and finishing with a time of 69.40. Two days later, Barila-Laliberte and Uranie du Tillard jumped clear and finished with a time of 69.40.

Jordan Steenbeek

Jordan Steenbeek of Woodham, ON, won the CAI2* H2 in Bromont, QC. Driving the trio of Brent Stonecreek (Julius 486 x Ulbert 390), a seven-year-old Friesian gelding, Tyler Stonecreek (Marlow Stonecreek x Jurjen 303), a nine-year-old Friesian gelding and Marlow Stonecreek (Doaitsen 420 x Sape 381), an 11-year-old Friesan gelding, all owned by Gerben Steenbeek, posted a score of 56.89 in the dressage phase, 92.70 in marathon and concluded with a score of 10.18 in cones for a total of 159.77.

Makenna Lemstra

On July 8, Makenna Lemstra of Corman Park, SK, earned a win in the CSI2* One Jump Off in Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. While riding her own London VD Breemeersen (Breemeersen Crescendo x Breemeersen Adorado), a 12-year-old Belgian warmblood gelding, Lemstra jumped double clear and finished with a time of 47.75.

Morgan Primrose

In front of a hometown crowd, Morgan Primrose of Calgary, AB, earned a victory in the CSI2* One Jump Off on June 18 at Spruce Meadows. Aboard Peninsula Vertigo (Ircolando x Calvados / Sable Rose), a 21-year-old Belgian warmblood gelding owned by Marilyn Dawson Dixon, the pair jumped double clear and finished with a time of 40.32.

Nyah Chernoff

Nyah Chernoff of DeWinton, AB, earned the winning ribbon on June 16 in the CSI2* One Jump Off at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, AB. Riding Fair Play D’Esquelmes (Darco x Carthago), a 12-year-old Belgian Sport Horse owned by Stump Lake Ranch & Cattle Co., Chernoff jumped double clear and finished with a time of 32.50.
