A little reminder and an appeal from the Canadian herd. (photo for attention)

The national equine survey is only open until February 12 and we need to hear from as many of our community members as possible. If you have a role with horses, we want your input. Please take the time to respond and ensure your experiences are included. The horses and everyone who cares for them in Canada thank you in advance!

Why do we need this? This our chance to better understand the current state of Canada’s diverse equestrian sector. A survey of this kind hasn’t been done since 2010 and we need to update the data. It will help everyone involved and Equestrian Canada will use the information to advocate and support the industry overall.

TIPS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU FILL OUT THE SURVEY

Since being open, we’ve learned the following through feedback:

  • It may be longer for some than others – it can seem in depth, depending on your involvement in the sector. Please consider completing it in full, your data is important!
  • You’ll be asked to provide figures – Because of the info we need, the survey requires some hard numbers about what you pay to participate in the sector, having this data on hand is helpful or we ask that you make your best estimate. Please don’t use commas.
  • Your responses are anonymous – All the data will be aggregated and no individual responses will be viewed on their own. Your privacy is protected.
  • You can complete it in more than one session – If you begin the survey, you can return to it by using the same browser that you started it in and complete it before submitting it.
  • Your input is appreciated – Anyone that fills out the survey has the chance to win one of six gift cards valued at $50 each.
  • Help is available – Should you have any difficulties with the survey, please contact one of the head researchers on the project Andrea Gal at andrea@wiltongroup.ca.

“This study provides an unprecedented opportunity to better understand Canada’s equestrian sector – spanning from the people who participate recreationally, to those who compete, and those who work in the sector. Equestrian Canada has not undertaken this scale of analysis since the 2010 Canadian Equine Industry Profile Study. It’s time to update this research,” says Dr. Bronwynne Wilton, the Principal and Lead Consultant at Wilton Consulting Group.

Thank you so much for your time and attention to collecting this important information.

And thank you to those that have responded to our survey so far!
