It is particularly fitting that Eric and Hickstead will be inducted as a team, as they were an unstoppable and inseparable partnership. Together, they won every Grand Prix title the world had to offer and collected medals from every major games – including, of course, the individual gold from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Eric and Hickstead are the second equestrian combination to be inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, following the 1996 induction of Ian Millar and Big Ben.
