The numbers are in for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, to be held July 26-Aug. 11 in France!
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has confirmed the number of horse-and-athlete combinations that will get a chance to go for the gold in both team and individual equestrian competition:
- Dressage: 60 combinations
- Eventing: 65 combinations
- Jumping: 75 combinations
Across all sports, 10,500 athletes will compete at the Paris Olympics. While that number is less than the projected Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games total by 592, it does illustrate an increased focus on gender equity with 50-50 male to female representation.
